CURRENT SOSIAL ISSUES FORUM

Today I got an opportunity to attend one forum in my university. This forum was organized by student in Special Program for Drug Abuse (SPADA). This forum discussing on various current issue that happen in our country. I am the lucky one because got this space to join that program. The program involving people from Yayasan Sinar Salam as the panel and help by other two of SPADA's students.

The forum starting by the talk from En.Mustaqim, Pegawai Penjara Kajang. He share his experience in career setting at prison. His works made him always met with many of prisoner. He told that about 33,ooo in the prison and now already increase until 50,000 for the latest. It was something bad news to know about that. Who actually the prisoner???Murder, Theft, Crime and etc.

Then, the forum continue with talk from En. Abd Edy, Pegawai Polis Bahagian Latihan, IPK Bukit Aman who discussing on "REMPIT" or the latest one "SAMSENG JALANAN". The issue was never end because there always show the new comer involve into that activities. This issue mostly involving the teenager who want to find an excitement in their life. They will start the activities in midnight around 1pm.

After that, the panel from Yayasan Sinar Salam begin their forum It was started by one of Co-defender which means the person who live around the drug addict but she was safe from any drug. She share her experience how to cope in this situation, but I feel proud for her because of her perseverance to face the real life.

Besides that, there also three of ex-drug users who sharing their experience in that problem. Most of their experience show that they take a drug to try for the beginning and finally they involve in that problem. Alhamdulillah, now all of them meet with the happiness when they had sent to Yayasan Sinar Salam. They want to change and hope to become a better person.

FAMILY DAY COUNSELING 2010

Last Friday, I joined a Family Day Counseling in my university. It was involving all students in the Counseling course to participate from first until forth year. I am the one too.This event was organised by my junior in Third Year. Actually, I feel not interest to participate on it because all my friends already back to home and others went out for their own way. But one of my friends, Zuraidah message me to invite me for came along with her, so I just go and prepare myself to join that event.

The celebration focused more on "sukaneka" which means we enjoyed ourselves and to build a close relationship between each others. Even we were in the same area, but its not means I knew everyone. The official ceremony had done by Vice of Dean, Dr. Radhi. There also others lecturers Madam Salhah and Madam Rezki Perdani Sawai. The event started at 3.30 until 6.00 pm in the evening. All of us was dividing into a few groups to ensure there will be all students in various years in one groups.

1) EXPLORACE

The first game that organised by the organizer was explorace. It started at Pavilion with the first task which was arrange the letter to make one word. By a word of ASSERTIVENESS, our group move to the second check point which was Canselori. At there, we needed to find one thing that should not be able to be there. Huhu...searching..searching and one of my group member find out that thing which was green ribbon. After that, we got the other clue for third check point by a "pantun", a few minutes to understands the meaning of "pantun" and we got the clue. We ran to the guard place to settle the task. The task was we needed to eat a biscuits, "agar-agar" and the best syrup in the world, because we are in the time to save sugar so the organizer made it by using a salt. I do not drink that syrup and just took a biscuit to complete the task. Finishing the task, we got a clue for the fourth check point which was the last one. The clue that was given by the organizer was 8516. It took time to find the meaning, we adding it and multiple it but there had no correct answer until the one of us can detect what it means....you knew what... HEP..we needed to recall on the abjad of ABC to get the answer. So blurring that time..but game was over..after got the clue we ran to HEP to finish the task. At there we needed to sing a song or maybe dance or whatever activities. We agreed to sing "SANG ULAT BULU" song to complete the task. So funny to remind back but at least we can finish the first game successfully in the first place. Unfortunately, the winning was cancelled by the organizer bcoz of there was a few of my group member ride a motorcycle in the race. It's okay bcoz we just have fun..This game made me feel so tired bcoz we needed to run in various place of USIM to settle down the game.

2) EGGS AND SPOONS

The starting for "Sukaneka". For this game, we needed to carry an egg in the spoon with different side of walk. It was not difficult bcoz we used hand comparing used mouth. We just passing the spoon with egg to other group member to finish the game. Hmmm...finally we win this game.

3) A BLIND WITH SWEETS

For this game, we needed to choose three of our group members to stand in the middle of circle with the close of eyes using selendang. While the others who outside from circle needed to give an instruction to all the blind. The task was to collect all the sweets in the circle and put in glass that provided by the organizer. Outside member gave an instruction while the blind needed to hear and collect all the sweets. The first group who can finish that part will win the game. Unfortunately we just got the fourth place for this task.

4) SWEETS AND WHEAT

This was usual game that my friends and I played since we were in kindergarten. As usual we needed to blow the wheat to get the sweets. The fastest one who can get all the sweets will win. I do not join this game bcoz it made my face seem like ghost..hahaha...actually don't want to made my face fully with the wheat.

5) DECORATIVE CLOTHES

This was the last one bfore end. For this task one of our group member needed to be like a model while the other needed to create a cloth to him. The name of cloth was given by the organizer. So, my group got the Jawa fashion. We needed to create a cloth using an old newspapers and adding with a few tudung to complete the cloth. We used knife and tape to make it more tight. Already got the JAVAIAN that evening.

From this event, I really hope that my future junior can do it as an annually event to ensure that all counseling members will never forgotten about this event. It can made our relationship between each other become close and can know everyone better. This entry was quite long but I feel happy to write and share this experience. When, I remember this moment, I can read through this entry again in my future. It will make my memory with all my friends and my junior meaningful in my life.

A SWEET MEMORIES NEVER DIES EVEN WE ARE SEPARATE BY EACH OTHERS

BALADA GADIS HIV

Recently, I got the opportunity to watch film entitle : Balada Gadis HIV. The film was about one hour. My friends and I needed to watch that film because it had a relation with our courses for this semester which is Counseling for Moral Rehabilitation. After finished watching my friends and I needed to make a reflection based on that film.

What can I shared the film is about a child who never got any guidance and right direction since she was a child. She also got a bad moment in their child's life because had been raped by her father. That incident was the beginning she came into drug and immoral activities. I feel so sad to watch that kinds of situation that needed to face by her.

After many years been in that situation, she got "hidayah" to change her life. Actually she is not alone to face that. Many people willing to help her back to God and learn to be in right direction. AADK almost giving the readiness to help that kind of person. I also attract with one woman who is Madam Arfidah Binti Abd. Latiff. She giving of her life to help people back to the right direction.

I still remembered I met with her at Rumah Sinar Salam last semester. She actually was my friend's interviewee while I made an interview with her husband. I went there with others two of my friends Sakinah and Aziela to finish my assignment for subject Counseling for Drug Rehabilitation. Both of them were really acceptance to give cooperation for us to make an interview. The interview running smoothly until 11 pm.

I went there after Maghrib Prayer and got the opportunity to meet with HIV's child who was born that morning. The child is not innocent but who actually should be blame in that case??

Madam Arfidah also brought us to see other child who stay at there. There have one hundred and plus plus children who stay there. She also told there are other three places like that already opened by her and husband. The motive only one to give them place to live and to bring back their way of life.

I feel excited to have this experience with my friends. Can you imagine I walked with my friends in Lorong Haji Taib 3 around 11pm...so crazy right. Actually I feel scared but in the other part there also have a brave in myself and also my friends. I do not know whether I will do that kinds of experience again in my life.

Through the journey I can see variuos kinds of people with their own style and the colourful of hair....it was bad in my view. They do not ignore about time and still walk and talk around the road.

From this experience, I really proud with Encik Raja Azizan Suhaimi and Puan Arfidah in their contribution to help child, teenager, men and women who involved in drug abuse to get back the right way of life.

Who are really-really willingness to help that kinds of people (drug addicts, HIV)??????...Person, People, Committee, Police, Counselor.....

Last Saturday, I joined a motivation program at Kuantan, Pahang. The program had been run at Sek. Men. Agama Al-Ikhsan. The students in form four, five and six involved in this program

All my friends and I involve as a facilitator to all of them. We need to face with the students in LDK activities and the other part we do it together. There also had a motivation talk by lecturer from FKP Encik Zaki who talk about time management and a brief view about USIM. The purpose only one to promote our university to all students at that school. If they interest to apply for USIM in the future they can apply it.

The program had been run successfully and great. I can saw all people enjoyed to take part in this program. Wishing u thank you to all my lovely frenz Final Year Counseling Program because gave a full commitment to handle this program. This memory will be never forgotten.I love all of you my dearest frenz.
